Late Ethan Ebanks-Landell effort enough for Sheffield United
A stoppage-time goal from Ethan Ebanks-Landell handed Sheffield United a narrow 1-0 win over nine-man Bury which extended their unbeaten run to 14 league games.
The Shakers finished the game at a disadvantage after having Jacob Mellis and Greg Leigh sent off.
United's Billy Sharp fired over early on and then Paul Coutts had a long-range shot saved by Ben Williams.
Daniel Lafferty wasted a great chance to score, putting a free header over from Sharp's cross
Stefan Scougall's header then hit the bar.
Williams saved Matt Done's shot on the turn before Bury lost Mellis a couple of minutes before the break when he was sent-off following a late challenge on Done.
Soon after the restart, Leigh fired in a 20-yard effort which curled away from goal.
United continued to press with Jack O'Connell and Done both heading off-target.
Substitute Leon Clarke went close to scoring when his header was headed off the line by Leon Barnett.
Bury went down to nine men five minutes from time when Leigh received a second booking.
The visitors' Antony Kay cleared Harry Chapman's shot off the line, while Ebanks-Landell slotted home a low shot in the third minute of stoppage time to finally end Bury's resistance.
