The run of course consists of six draws and that elusive 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup which no United (Manchester or Sheffield) supporter wants to forget.
Queens Park Rangers went into this game with high hopes, having netted thirteen goals in the last five outings but would have to do without play-maker Akos Buszacky who served a one-match suspension for this game.
However since the 'Super Hoops' lost 2-1 at Bramall Lane on January, 12th when Patrick Agyemang scored a debut goal the Loftus Road club have gone from strength to strength and under the guidance of Luigi De Canio as seen the Londoners cascade themselves away from the bottom three of the Championship.
United started the game brightly at Loftus Road with midfielder Michael Tonge blasting over from 25 yards - but it was the Blades on real chance early doors.
Though despite the visitors dominance early on in the game it was the hosts who took advantage of slack defending, Hogan Ephraim worked well on the right hand side with Gary Naysmith back tracking, he evaded the Scottish defender before his low cross found Colombian striker Angelo Balanto who screwed home from close range.
Moments later United almost replied instantly when James Beattie volleyed but was denied by the stretching arm of Rangers keeper Lee Camp.
After the break the visitors found a new wave of determination that hadn't been seen at Bramall Lane since Neil Warnock left the club and under the leadership of his former assistant Kevin Blackwell the Blades mounted a reprieve but had to wait until 78th minute until they levelled the score.
The goal came totally against the run of play but the overall performance warranted the point which they earned - captain Chris Morgan picked the ball up from the edge of the opposition area following a Paddy Kenny free-kick, Morgan turned and his low shot spun past keeper Camp.
Despite the point gained it left United in 15th place and twelve points behind the last play-off place which is held by next Saturday's opponents Charlton Athletic.
