Picture: Sheffield United's Shaun Miller celebrate scoring the winning goal in front of the away fans in the FA Cup win at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
Miller, 28 has joined SkyBet League Two sides Carlisle United on a free transfer following the end of his one year stay at Morecambe. He was signed by the Blades in 2012 from Crewe Alexandra by then boss Danny Wilson, making his debut in a 2-2 League Cup draw with Burton Albion.
His two year stay with Sheffield United was plagued by injuries and limited his number of appearances to just 28 games in total. He netted four goals with perhaps the most important being a last minute of Extra-Time winner at Fulham in the FA Cup in 2014.
He was released at the end of that season where he joined Coventry City and eventually last club Morecambe in 2015. He has now joined Cumbria’s Carlisle United in a two year deal managed by Keith Curle.
McGahey, 20 was one of a long list of professionals released by the football club this summer and although his contract does not officially terminate until 30th June, the youngster has been able successful in finding a new club. He was signed from Blackpool in July 2014 with the prospect of being a rising star but like Miller, injuries prevented his progress. He made just 22 appearances and joins fellow SkyBet League One side Rochdale on a free transfer, joining Spotland on a two year deal.
We would like to wish the pair of them all the best at their new respective clubs.
