This season’s league schedule will feature just seven teams (including United) but will be without fixtures against Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham United, Barnsley and Bradford City; leaving Nottingham Forest and Derby County as our main rivals this season.
However we welcome new opposition in Walsall and Stoke City as well as facing regulars Forest, Derby, Burton Albion and Port Vale.
The second string finished second in the league last season after being piped to the title on the final day of the season in a 4-0 reverse to Derby County; Chris Porter, now with the Blades was on the Rams score sheet that day.
Last season the Blades opted out of the Central League Cup and have done so yet again; whilst all games will kick-off at 7:00pm and most fans will be pleased to learn that all home games will be played at Bramall Lane.
