Blades boss Micky Adams looked on as a youthful side swept bottom of the table Bradford City away as Harry Maguire, Jean Calve and Danny Philliskirk all netted in a comfortable four-nil victory.
United fielded Norweagan duo Erik Tonne and Kristoffer Lokberg who have both recently signed for the club as well as Danny Philliskirk who making his first start for the club since joining on loan from Chelsea over a month ago.
Also added to the squad were further recent additions; Seamus Conneely, David McAllister, Marc Warren and Andras Gardos as well as Irish trialist Killian Brennan.
Brennan, 27 is without a club; the left-winger has served Peterborough United, Dublin City, Derry City and Bohemians during his career.
The Blades were dominant throughout the game and created early chances through Philliskirk, who beat Lawless before allowing James to cross for Brennan; his header however was saved by Elliott and was soon in the thick of it to deny James.
McAllister fired wide when his opportunity came along, but on the 19th minute the home side dent a deadly blow into the Bantams defence; Brennan’s in swinging corner was met by an unchallenged head of Maguire who headed home.
At the other end former academy player Jake Speight created a half chance with United doubling their lead shortly before the break – a great move involving Calve and James freed Tonne who found McAllister for the Irishman to pull back to Philliskirk who finished.
Philliskirk made it three-nil early in the second half when he glanced home, beating Eliiott with ease.
On the 69th minute the Blades French defender Jean Calve made it four; he single handily beaten Rowe and Dean before his shot proved too powerful for keeper Elliott.
