The former Sheffield Wednesday forward initially joined the Blades on loan from Stoke City in late September and made his debut as a substitute in a 3-3 home draw with Ipswich Town and found the net for the first time in a red and white shirt in his second appearance against Doncaster Rovers (1-1).
His exploits this season in the Blades team has led him to play the best football of his life, and at the age of 32 has found the net twelve times in 27 (+4) appearances - becoming the clubs joint leading goal scorer along with Darius Henderson.
He completed a full £500,000 transfer from the Britannia Stadium on new year's day and has scored on his last two outings in fixtures against Newcastle United (1-2) and Coventry City (1-0); he will be looking to make it a hat-trick of goals as the Owls look to fight off relegation to League One.
Cresswell made just 8 (+28) appearances for the Owls and scored three goals between March 1999 and September 2000 in what was a difficult time in his career; he struggled to cement a first team place with Gerald Sibon, Andy Booth and Giles de Bilde as their first choice strikers.
However it would be a 'dream come true' if the former player returned to Hillsborough and netted the match winner for the Blades!
