Following a rough start to a new life in League One, following their relegation from the Championship last season, Millwall find themselves currently stranded in mid-table obscurity - or rather 14th to be exact. In the last six league encounters the Lions have claimed two victories and two draws, giving Neil Harris' side a fairly even form guide.
The majority of clubs have been able to stake maximum points over Blackpool but this London club coudl only manage a draw against their former Championship opponents.
Jack Redshaw's late penalty rescued a much-needed point for Blackpool as they drew 1-1 at home to 10-man Millwall. The visitors had the best of the opening exchanges as Steve Morison headed over inside the first minute before Aidan O'Brien shot wide following Joe Martin's cross. Blackpool's first chance arrived on the 26th minute when Mark Cullen let fire from the edge of the area but Jordan Archer was equal to it - tipping the ball onto the crossbar before gathering at the second attempt.
Mark Beevers opened the scoring for Millwall on the 35th minute with a close-range volley after Morison headed Shaun Williams' corner against the crossbar. Chances were scarce throughout but O'Brien carved himself into a good position ten yards out on the hour mark but he shot into the side netting.
Nine minutes from time the Seasiders drew level. Carlos Edwards was dismissed for bundling over half-time substitute Bright Osayi-Samuel in the penalty area and Redshaw duly converted the resulting spot kick, slamming home off the underside of the crossbar.
Carlos Edwards will miss the trip to Bramall Lane as the full-back serves a one-match ban. The 36-year-old was sent off as Millwall drew 1-1 at Blackpool on Tuesday - a match which saw Shaun Williams go off injured.
The Irish midfielder was substituted in the 50th minute after suffering from back spasms and will be assessed ahead of the game. Paris Cowan-Hall may not be risked as he continues his return from a groin complaint, while Ed Upson (knee) and Nadjim Abdou (collarbone) remain absent.
