He said: "We are looking to improve from Tuesday night when we didn't meet the standards we set ourselves. The players got frustrated and needed more patience, but they know that and don't need telling.
"They are not machines, they are human with strengths and weaknesses like everyone else. You can't always perform the way you want, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but the lads always do their level best.
"With Preston, like ourselves coming off the back of a loss following a good run, it should be a good game between two sides wanting to immediately get back to winning ways."
