Danny Wilson’s Blades will be looking to extend of their run of two clean sheets in a row after netting results against Oxford United (3-0) in the cup and Carlisle United (1-0) last Saturday in League One. Ched Evans (21 minutes) notched his eighth goal of the season to win the match but Richard Cresswell could have made it two had he not squandered his second half penalty kick.

Defender-Midfielder Johannes Ertl is close to make a return and may be included amongst the 16 man squad this Saturday. The Austrian national hasn’t played a first team game since March 2011 but recently recovery has been successful having featured in the last two reserve team outings against Derby County (1-1) and Nottingham Forest (2-2); playing a full 90 minutes in each fixture.

Chesterfield were on the wrong end of a hammering last weekend when a 5-2 defeat at Oldham Athletic leaving Spirites manager John Sheridan fearing over his job security. Robbie Simpson (12, 17 & 33) netted a 21 minute hat-trick as the Latics raced into the lead.

Kiren Lee (3) had handed them an early lead with Craig Westcarr (30) at the other end reducing the score line to 3-1 before Simpson completed his treble – in the second half former Sheffield Wednesday striker Skefki Kuqi (58) added a fifth and three minutes from time another former Owl Leon Clarke scored for Chesterfield.

Clarke, currently on loan from League Two outfit Swindon Town has netted nine goals to date and they will hope that he can continue his great scoring run and propel them out of the bottom four. They will though be without Mark Randall (back) through injury.
