That day the Blades won 1-0 with a goal from former Tiger Mark Yeates (53 minutes), cutting inside the box past his marker before firing home past Matt Duke.
Winger Mark Yeates was on loan at the KC Stadium (from Tottenham Hotspur) from September 2006 to January 2007, making just three (+4) appearances and without finding the net.
United go into this Boxing Day tie without a number of key players; Captain Chris Morgan (knee) has been sidelined for the remainder of the season through injury, whilst; Ryan France (back) and Darius Henderson (hamstring) are also unavailable.
They could however boosted by the return of midfielder Lee Williamson who played an hour in the Blades 5-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday Reserves over a week ago and was an unused substitute in our 1-0 victory over Swansea City last Saturday.
Keeper Richard Wright made (thigh) is also out of action following his injury during the 1-0 defeat against Barnsley on 11th December at Oakwell.
The Blades will also be without striker Richard Cresswell who serves the last of a three game ban; he has already missed the fixtures with Barnsley and Swansea City.
However they are boosted by the return of Daniel Bogdanovic who was sent off on 20th November in the 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace – he was forced to sit out the Championship fixtures with Bristol City, Barnsley and Swansea City.
Expected Eleven: Simonsen, Calvé, Bartley, Nosworthy, Taylor, Yeates, Montgomery, Britton, Reid, Bogdanovic, Evans.
Hull City staked a 2-0 victory over Bristol City last weekend; Jay Simpson (13 & 62 minutes) netted twice as the Tigers won three vital points as (along with the Blades) they battle against possible relegation.
Tigers boss Nigel Pearson is expected to be without Caleb Folan (knee), Daniel Ayala (hamstring), Mark Cullen (ankle), Richard Garcia (knee), Nick Barmby (knee) and Craig Fagan (hip) through injury. They could be boosted by the return of injury prone midfielder Jimmy Bullard is targeting a Boxing Day return but City fans aren’t expecting him to recover in time.
They will also be without left full-back defender Andy Dawson who will be suspended after picking up five bookings this season. He is likely to be replaced by Liam Rosenior who this week signed a new contract, keeping at the KC Stadium until 2013.
James Harper is likely to feature against his former club; he signed from Reading in September 2009 – initially on loan with Brian Howard going in the opposite direction. The deal was made permanent in February 2010 but was allowed to leave on a free transfer at the seasons end.
He made his Blades debut in a 1-0 victory at Derby County and scored on his second outing at Coventry City (lost 2-3), in all he made 33 (+3) appearances for United, scoring four goals.
Expected Eleven: Mannone, McShane, Zayatte, Rosenior, Stewart, Ashbee, Harper, Devitt, Koren, Simpson.
