This season has been a season of woe to date for the Blades but in recent weeks they have picked up - despite losing their last home fixture to Ipswich Town (1-2) the Bramall Lane club has seen them pick up points at Leicester City (2-2) and Millwall (1-0).
These four points on the road has come to from the inclusion of Andy Reid (on loan from Sunderland) who's like minding attacking has allowed the Blades to attack with confidence - however, more worrying is that they have picked up just seven points at home (12 away).
Blades boss Gary Speed is without a number of key players; Captain Chris Morgan (knee) has been sidelined for the remainder of the season through injury, whilst; Nick Montgomery (Achilles), Ryan France (back),Darius Henderson (hamstring) and Lee Williamson (back) are also unavailable.
He is also without midfielder Stephen Quinn who is understandable withdrawn from the side dcue to personal reasons.
Expected Eleven: Simonsen, Lowton, Bartley, Ertl, Nosworthy, Yeates, Montgomery, Britton, Reid, Cresswell, Evans.
Last season Crystal Palace made the great escape with a 2-2 draw at Hillsborough on the final day of the season, a draw was enough to secure Championship football whilst Sheffield Wednesday would be relegated.
They currently lay in the bottom three and no doubt face a long hard season, but there spirits will have been lifting following a 2-0 win over Coventry City last weekend.
The Eagles will be without striker Calvin Andrew who has agreed to join rivals Millwall on a one month's loan deal.
