For the third successive fixture Sheffield United go into the game with their opponents having played Barnsley in there last fixture. On this occasion the Tykes triumphed with a 3-0 victory at Oakwell; Brian Howard (66 minutes), Dennis Souza (71) and Martin Davaney (87) all netted second half goals.

The Robins will be without Alex Russell and Jennison Myrie-Williams who have both left Ashton Gate to take up loan deal at Northampton Town and Cheltenham Town respectively.

Possible Robins Line-Up: Adriano Basso, Louis Carey, Liam Fontaine, Jamie McAllister, Scott Murray, Marvin Elliot, Bradley Orr, Michael McIndoe, Lee Johnson, Lee Trundle, Darren Byfield.

Sheffield United set up an entertaining finish, netted twice with just five minutes remaining when at the time they were losing 3-1. James Beattie (18) had given United the lead, but Joe Ledley (34) and a Robbie Fowler (45) gave the Bluebirds the lead.

Former Rangers midfielder Gavin Rae (59) added a third when it looked like the Blades were pushing for an equaliser, but had to wait until 84th minute for Chris Armstrong's net buster before they kicked into shape. And, with one minute gone into stoppage time Chris Morgan (90) headed home from a corner.

The Blades will travel to Ashton Gate without Derek Geary (knee) who is expected to be sidelined for around six weeks following an operation. Also out injured are; Keith Gillespie (hamstring), Nick Montgomery (hip) and Gary Naysmith (knee) and are expected to be replaced by Leigh Bromby, David Carney, Alan Quinn and Chris Armstrong.

Meanwhile striker Rob Hulse (broken leg) is still recovering from his injury and is back in training, but is unclear as to when he will return to the first team.
