The Blades fought well to draw by two goals each with the Premier League club last Sunday in what provided a testimonial for Chris Morgan. A stunning goal by Kieran Freeman levelled the scores in what was an entertaining fixture for United - Marc McNulty had earlier beat the offside trap before sliding the ball through Tim Krul's legs to level at 1-1.
With the pre-season friendlies drawing to a close (only Hull City at home will remain after tonight) Blades boss Nigel Adkins may opt to field a more recognisable side which may feature heavily at Gillingham on 8 August. However John Bryaford, Mark Howard and Bob Harris may all miss out again due to injuries.
Macclesfield Town vs. Sheffield United - Pre-Season Friendly - Wednesday, 29th July 2015 - Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Vanarama National League side Macclesfield Town beat fellow Lancashire rivals Stockport County by two goals to one last Saturday in what was their first victory of the summer. They had previously drawn 0-0 at Kidsgrove Athletic and lost 3-0 at Natwhich. At home to Football League opposition the Silkmen have also drawn 0-0 with Rochdale and suffered defeat to Bury (0-1).
Last season they finished 6th in the highest league of non-league and in an attempt to re-gain Football League status they have recruited Jack Simpson (from Morcambe), Curtis Haynes-Brown (Cambridge United) and Kristian Dennis (on loan from Stockport County). Going out they have allowed Adriano Moke (to Wrexham), Waide Fairhust (Torquay United) and Will Haining (Ashton United) to leave Moss Rose.
