The Lilywhites may count themselves fortunate that they made the Championship Play-Offs last time round, they sneaked in on the last day of the season at the expense of Cardiff City but lost out in the semi-final stage (2-1) to Sheffield United over two legs.
Their success last season not only came from manager Alan Irvine who has been touted for bigger things in years to come but for Barnsley born striker Jon Parkin who found the net eleven times last season whilst at the back Sean St Ledger was a strong unit.
However despite their success last season its going to be tough to re-create that winning formula and believe that an outside play-off finish is expected.
