It was reported last Monday that Fulham are interested in the Sheffield United striker whilst Blades-Mad has since learnt from a reliable source that the entire story wasn't told.
We have learnt that a deal will only be struck if former Manchester City and Sheffield United Midfielder Michael Brown will come the other way and make his long awaited return to Bramall Lane.
Brown, 29 was signed by Neil Warnock in December 1999 initially on loan from Manchester City before completing a £400,000 move. he left for Tottenham Hotspur in January 2004 after the Blades failed in their bid for Premiership football.
In all Brown made 168 (+ 6 as a substitute) whilst netting 36 goals, most of them during the 2002/03 seasons campaign.
It is unsure if any money will exchange hands but it is believed that if Webber does leave Bramall Lane then striker partner Steven Kabba will be taken off the transfer list until at least the summer.
