Doncaster Rovers were promotion at the first time of asking from League Two and despite allowing a number of key first team players to leave; replaces are already being lined up.
Rovers boss Darren Ferguson is looking to recruiting Sheffield United midfielder Ben Whiteman, 20 on loan after he enjoyed a successful loan spell with Mansfield Town last season, scoring 7 goals in 28 appearances for the Stags.
With first team places at Bramall Lane a premium ahead of the Championship season, it is likely that Whiteman, a promising youngster will be allowed to leave on loan to gain further experience.
He told the Sheffield Star yesterday; “I think the manager wants me go out on-loan again next season,” he said. “Even though I was only at Mansfield for a short spell, the club is close to me, but I think it’ll be League One.”
