Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has reportedly rekindled his interest in former Netherlands international striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who graced the pitch at Stamford Bridge; whilst he is also set to land Matthew Kilgallon from Leeds United.
The Blades were interested in Hasselbaink in pre-season after his release from Middlesbrough only to be beat to the chase by Charlton Athletic. Despite injuries the forward has seen opportunities at The Valley limited with Darren and Marcus Bent as well as Dennis Rommedhal alhead of him.
Hasselbaink, 35 has scored just once (v Chelsea) for the South London club but looks set to see his career rescued by Neil Warnock.
However new boss Alan Pardew could be the only man to get in the way; he may wish to find cover first before letting him go.
Meanwhile United are expected to complete the transfer of Matthew Kilgallon when the transfer window re-opens tommorow.
