Stefan Jansen: Blades next failed striker?
Aged 31, the forward is currently playing in Netherlands Gouden Gids Divisie League, that's the Dutch version of Nationwide League Division One.

Following Dries Boussatta's return to Holland to scout for United several players have been recommended to Neil Warnock but as usual he has been shy to reveal his targets.

Jansen, who currently plays alongside former Bolton and West Brom front man Fabian De Freitas has netted 25 goals this campaign, whilst picking up just one yellow card all season. Against Eindhioven in April he netted a hat-trick to win 3-0 (goals came in 39, 41 and 65th minute).

United have apparently been chasing the Bosch star for months but the striker who is on a free transfer this summer reckons that this deal as stretched far enough.

Jansen revealed all; "The Englishmen asked if I would like to wait until their scout and trainer had watched me,". "So I did, but now it's been long enough.

"I have let Sheffield know that I'm going to talk to the other clubs that are interested in me."

"In the away game at Eindhoven a scout of Sheffield was in the stadium," he added. "I scored twice and so that man was very positive.

"After that the head trainer, Neil Warnock, came to watch himself on Friday when we played against Cambuur in Leeuwarden (Jansen scored twice again).

"So I had high hopes that it would all be completed, until they called Monday evening and said that there is a halt on investment.

"Maybe that's because they missed the play-offs for promotion to The Premiership. That can make a big difference on earnings.

"It could also be that first they have to get rid of players, before they can get new ones."

It now looks as thought Halmond Sport, MVV and FC Dordrecht may now show an interest.
