Sheffield United supporters already know that the Blades have shown an interest in Blackmam, 24 after making an impressive display whilst on loan at the Bramall Lane club which finished tenth in their first season back in the Championship.
It is understood that United wish to make the keeper a permanent transfer with Chelsea valuing there player at around £2,500,000. He had signed a new deal with the Stamford Bridge club almost 12 months ago and his reported £20,000 per week wage could cause a stumbling block for the Blades – though they are in a better position to offer First Team football.
Chris Wilder is also interested in bringing in midfielder Palmer, 21 on loan. He played 14 times whilst on loan at Derby County and impressed as they reached the Championship Semi-Finals. The previous year he won promotion (on loan) with Huddersfield Town.
Both would prove to strengthen the team though I do worry about the ever growing list of midfielders on United’s books.
