Yesterday Sheffield United put seven players on the transfer list (plus Li Tie on loan) in order to make way for what is believed around six new faces at Bramall Lane when the transfer market re-opens in January.
A number of players have rumoured to be on Neil Warnock's hit list including Matthew Killgallon (Leeds United) and Greg Halford (Colchester United) as well as unlikely loan target Alan Smith (Manchester United).
Now it appears that the Blades are in the hunt for Gabon international Daniel Cousins who applies his trade at French club Lens, however United will have a fight on their hands as Nantes are also interested.
Cousin, 29 has played for four clubs, all in France. Martigues (1997-98), Niort (1998-00), Le Mans (2000-04), RC Lens (2004-??) have all had the pleasure of seeing Cousin on their book; to date he has played 280 domestic games whilst returning with 76 goals.
Officials from Sheffield have been to France to watch the striker against Lyon and some reports suggest that Cousin and officials met in Paris last Tuesday.
