Following relegation to npower League One the Blades are already in the transfer market hunt to search for new talent which will hopefully win them promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.
Wes Thomas, who netted an impressive 19 goals in League Two for Cheltenham Town is out of contract in a month’s time and the Blades are keen to snap the 24 year old up – though they face stiff competition from Crystal Palace and MK Dons though it is thought that the Bramall Lane club are favourites for his signature.
United are also thought to be interested in Barnsley Academy forward Steven Bennett, 19 who is set to be released this summer by the Oakwell club. He has made just four substitute appearances for the first team and netted a hat-trick for the Reserves in their 6-1 win over United this season.
