The 26 year old striker started his career at York City in 1995 before a £950,000 move took him to Wednesday in 1999. In the Premiership he made just 7 starts and scored twice.

He later signed for his current club Preston North End via Leicester City in August 2001 after a successful loan spell. Today should he start against West Bromwich Albion will be his 99th league game with the club.

It is now believed that the Blades will £750,000 to secure his services providing Sheffield United reach the Premiership.
