Blades Chase City Striker

Doyle, 28 (pictured) made his name locally with Chesterfield, banging in 32 goals in 69 appearances for the Proact club until he joined Cardiff City in January 2015 for an undisclosed fee.

But his record with the Bluebirds has been less than impressive and has only managed 5 goals in 16 league outings. In September 2015 he was transferred to Preston North End on loan and it is here where a twitter account, presumably unofficial claims that Sheffield United are interested in the signature of Doyle.

New Blades boss Chris Wilder has made it publically known that United are searching for a strike partner for Billy Sharp. It is unknown as to the authenticity of these rumours but I would have thought that former Cardiff boss Russell Slade, now manager of Charlton Athletic and Preston North End would also be interested in acquiring his services for next season.
