After a hard season which has left the club in turmoil the Hatters were forced to enter administration and thus deducted ten penalty points, whilst manger Kevin Blackwell was sacked despite already handing in his resignation and regardless of their efforts were relegated into League Two - the bottom tier of the Football League.
As a result Town released several players including former Sheffield United starlets Don Hutchinson and Paul Peschisolido as well as Darren Currie, nephew of the legendary Tony Currie and is now Blades-Mad believe that Currie is wanted by Blackwell to bolster the midfield.
Currie would join the Blades on a free transfer following his release from the Kenilworth Road club but highly rated young shot stopper Dean Brill is expected to cost United a lump sum of £1,000,000. The Blades offered to take the keeper last January and the re-loan him back to Luton - but the deal fell through.
We are unsure as to how much United would wish to see Currie at Bramall Lane but Dean Brill is almost certainly on his way to Sheffield - you heard it hear first.
