It is a combination of traditional United handbooks of the past plus stories of United away days over the last two seasons. The United Supporters’ Handbook takes a look at the club’s two seasons in League 1 from 2011 to 2013 and the rapid rise of the Handsworth Blades in the same period.
On the playing side the free flowing passing football of 2011/12 gave way to a much more functional albeit defensively more solid team in 2012/13. Although all too familiar play-off heartache brought a close to each season there were some great moments to look back on; highlights being great away wins at Oldham (twice), Preston, Bury, Huddersfield, Notts County, Rochdale, Crawley, Bournemouth (twice) and Tranmere.
A real plus off the field occurred in the south-east of the Steel City with the ascent of the Handsworth Blades. Always a stronghold as a United area the backing for the club went from strength-to-strength in Handsworth as buses went to all away games over the two League 1 seasons. Numerous stories of S13 away days - starting point the Cross Keys – following the Red and White Wizards are covered in the handbook.
This unique Blades Supporters’ Handbook has a myriad of features, articles and statistical records to appeal to any United fan.
