nick montgomery - ten years with the club
What now is seemingly a life-time ago the Leeds born midfielder slipped on his boots and with twelve minutes remaining replaced Georges Santos at Carrow Road - the Blades were already down to ten men following a Marcus Bent sending off four minutes earlier.

United lost the game 4-2 despite taking a 2-0 lead via David Kelly and Michael Brown but those few minutes of football which then manager Neil Warnock allowed him to play was to set him on road to a great career with the Blades.

Three days later he made his full debut in a 1-0 home win over Stockport County and was handed the opportunity to shine under a manager who believed in youth players.

Whilst Monty hasn't been gracious in scoring goals he netted his first in November 2001 in a 4-0 win over Birmingham City and on the international front has two Scotland U-21 caps to his name and one for Scotland Future squad in 2005.

Prior to this season's start the midfielder has made 264 (72) appearances in a red and white shirt and scored eight goals.

WELL DONE MONTY!!!
