On the official websites of Sheffield United FC and Barnsley FC, they both state that the 25 year-old will sign a 3 month loan deal with a view to a permanent move in January.
The fee for his move across South Yorkshire will be paid over the course of this and next year. The Tykes have received
£200,000 for the loan fee and a further £300,000 will be paid when the transfer is fully completed. The deal includes sell on fees.
The transfer which has been hanging over South Yorkshire for five days was finally completed at 7:00pm Thursday evening. The two clubs agreed that Brian will not be able to play part in United's trip to Oakwell in November but he can play the reverse fixture at Bramall Lane next February.
Howard should be available for selection for Saturday's encounter against Bristol City. Sheffield United and Barnsley would like to make no more comments at this present time on the situation.
