Bramall Lane has seen a fair few changes since it was built in the early 1850's and at one time was used as a cricket pitch before it was used only for Football in 1975 when the South Stand was built.
As for the Kop which is situated on Shoreham Street has been stood in its vacant position since the stadium was built. However the stand has been extended and in 1990 saw its capacity reduced from 10,000 to just 8,000 when plastic seating was introduced and a roof installed.
If our sources are correct then we can expect a two-tier stand and the work will begin in January. No official statement on this matter has yet to be given.
Meanwhile the ground is still been modernized, the South Stand and Bramall Lane End (Away End) is currently having its old wood seats ripped out and replaced with new red plastic luxury seats.
