The Blades are due to play Derby County tomorrow night but the former Leicester City defender won't be able to play as he isn't a registered player.
He started his football career with Norwich City in 1988, beginning life as an apprentice. Two years later he signed a professional contract. He played for the Carrow Road club up until 1996 when he moved to Spanish club; Club Athletico Osasuna.
Leicester City brought Ullathorne back to England for £600,000 in February 1997, he left in 2000 and after unsuccessful trial periods with Real Zaragoza, Tenerife (both Spain) and Newcastle United signed for Sheffield United in December 2000, though this too was after being on trial.
He played 30 times for the Blades until end of 2002-03 season where he was released after injury seemed to damper his Blades career. He joined Stoke City and then Walsall on trial which again proved unsuccessful, now he will try Derby County to see if he can finally find a club.
Ullathorne was strong and reliable during his time with United but was prone to injury, he surely would have made more appearances had it not been for that. Blades-Mad would like to conclude that he would be very welcome at Bramall Lane either as a player or coach.
