The Blades are just one of 24 teams in The Championship next season and will battle out for a chance to play in the Premiership for the 2005-06 season.
The other teams are: Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley, Cardiff City, Coventry City, Crewe Alexandra, Derby County, Gillingham, Ipswich Town, Leeds United, Leicester City, Millwall, Nottingham Forest, Plymouth Argyle, Preston North End, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, Rotherham United, Stoke City, Sunderland, Watford, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Last season the Blades landed Gillingham at home on the opening day which in a heat wave drew a 0-0 result whilst the final game was an exciting 3-3 draw at Preston North End in which Andy Gray bagged a brace.
Next season though should be exciting, Wolves is always a good fixture as was Leicester City when met in 2002-03 season. Whilst of course we couldn't go without mentioning local derbies against Leeds United and Rotherham United.
United have not met Leeds in the league for 10 years despite the two cup victories won the other season.
And, if you would like our prediction I reckon that United will end up away on the opening day and will face newcomers Plymouth Argyle who we have not met since the Blades successful promotion season of 1989-90.
