Tuttle has made just 29 appearances from the London club following his move from Barnsley in March 2000 and has not played for the Lions since the 0-0 draw against Watford in August this season.
The 30 year old Defender has also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace. He has been sidelined with a host of injury problems and after suffering with a ankle injury he was forced to end his contract and hang up his boots by mutual consent.
Tuttle said: "I've been struggling with an ankle injury for months and it's still not right.
"It is annoying not being able to play, and rather than just hang around until the end of the season, I spoke to the chairman and it was agreed that my contract would be terminated by mutual consent immediately."
He later added on the club's website: "I've been doing some scouting in recent weeks which I've enjoyed and I've offered to help the club in this area in the future if they need it."
