Jeffers was shown a straight red card in the first half against Port vale in the Carling Cup Round Two fixtures last night after allegedly head butting and then punching his opponent; the home side won the game on the night 2-0 to send the Owls crashing out of the Cup.
The striker who has yet to score this season will now serve a three match suspension and will miss the Coca-Cola Championship clashes against Plymouth Argyle, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough at Home Park and Hillsborough respectively.
He has also been transfer listed by the club and could return from his suspension against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Friday, 18th September - unless, like in many cases the Football Association warrant an extra ban as punishment for his offence.
