Sheffield United goalkeeper Simon Moore has signed a new deal with the Blades – warning off any advancement from West Bromwich Albion.
Moore, 28 has recently been linked with a move to West Brom after the new Championship side were seeking out competition. It is understood that the former Brentford and Cardiff City stopper was frustrated after being number two to Jamal Blackman last season and now looks to be heading the same way with the loan signing of Dean Henderson from Manchester United.
On Tuesday night he played 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Inter Milan at Bramall Lane.
In order to warn off any potential threat from other clubs, United have agreed to a contract extension until 2021. Chris Wilder told the clubs website (www.sufc.co.uk); "Simon was coming towards the end of his contract, so we're delighted to tie him down because he's done fantastically well for this football club.
"We need competition in that department and we're fortunate to have three goalkeepers in Dean, Simon and Jake that are all pushing each other."
