Undoubtedly, Morgan, a proud Yorkshireman, would have been privileged to lead out the Blades in this week's derby against Leeds United, but he'll have to watch from the sidelines instead.
Results from a scan show that the injury to his hamstring isn't as severe as originally thought, though. Morgan will definitely miss the encounter at Elland Road and Nottingham Forest at the City Ground next week, but will be pushing it for Watford at home the following Saturday.
On the loss of his captain, Gary Speed commented: "He felt his hamstring pull when he made a clearance and sensibly came off before it got too bad. Fortunately, he seems to have caught it at the right time and he's not looking at too long on the sidelines.
"It is a blow to lose him again just after coming back but hamstrings can be problematic and it is a bonus that he's out for just a couple of weeks rather than months."
Morgs was left out of the starting 11 at Derby and at home to Scunthorpe recently despite recovering from a calf injury. Gary Speed opted to remain with an unbeaten side, so Morgan will have to fight his way back into his manager's main focal point.
