Other clubs have taken up the idea, and it has proved successful with atmospheres at those clubs' grounds bettering. Blades Mad users are serious about the idea, and 'Humbosharp', a Message-board poster, writ up the following article for us:
'As we are all quite aware, the atmosphere at Bramall Lane, in specifically The Kop, hasn’t been up to its usual standards the last couple of years, except the odd game, e.g. Preston in the play-offs, Sheffield Wednesday. This is how many want it every game. We appreciate it may be difficult to get motivated with the some of the current football and maybe the manager, but a group of fans who participate on the Blades Mad Message-board have all agreed something needs to be done to increase the level of atmosphere around BDTBL at the minute.
We have all agreed it may be time we change our seats from the Kop to the H Block (South Stand) or the Bramall Lane Upper tier. After more consideration, most think the Bramall Lane Upper stand would be the better option. These are the areas 'Passionistas' have identified where they may want the singing to occur. Many are aggrieved at this lack of atmosphere and seeing the our Steel City neighbours make more noise despite the fact they appear far below us in the league table.
At the end of the day, we shouldn’t have to wait for the team to perform before we sing. The fans, we believe should back the team from the off to create Bramall Lane the fortress it once was. Any readers who agree with this and would like to join ‘The H block Blades’ please feel free to join us on Facebook or make us aware and you can be made aware of the meeting details.'
Thanks to'Humbosharp' for writing up the article.
