What have you been up to since you left Bramall Lane last year?
Apart from settling back into Perth, we have spent a lot of time organizing the design and build of our new house.
How does Australian football differ to that in England?
It’s definitely less professional. There are fewer games, 24 league games all up and the style of play is a lot slower?
What can you tell us about your new club Perth Glory?
It’s a well-supported club, with crowds of around 10,000. We have an excellent 18,000-seater stadium.
How is your season progressing?
We’re on course to run away with the league, as we are 8 points ahead. We then have a top 6 finals competition to try and win.
Apart from Neil Warnock’s half-time team talks, what do you miss most about Sheffield United?
Playing at that level, the fans and teammates.
Do you still look out for the Blades’ results?
Yes, religiously.
Do you think they can go all the way up into The Premiership?
Yes. I honestly believe the disappointments of last season will serve as good experience for this campaign.
What was your favourite moment when playing for Sheffield United?
Winning Player of the Year.
If Perth Glory ever played Sheffield United, who do you think would come out on top?
Sheffield United.
What does the future hold for Shaun Murphy? Any coaching aspirations?
No short-term ambition to go into coaching. Definitely want to see us moved into our new house as quickly as possible. Have other business interests that I will pursue after football in a couple of years time.
