Stefan Scougall (right) battles in the JPT win over Nott's County last season.
Scougall, 23 played and scored in the dramatic 5-3 defeat to Hull City in the FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley in 2013 under former manager Nigel Clough. But under Nigel Adkins the Scot has seen game time few and far between and eventually joined Fleetwood Town on loan towards the latter end of the season, played 10 times for the Cod Army.
It was expected that he would be among the list of departing players but new boss Chris Wilder has decided to give the midfielder a reprieve, who admires his work effort and sees him as a potential to solve the Blades lacklustre midfield.
“He’s not played a lot of football and his energy levels over the past three games have been quite incredible,” Fleetwood Town boss Pressley said.
