The 24 year old has been released by Chris Turner and is available on a free transfer. Like Paddy Kenny, Quinn is on international duty with the Republic of Ireland but is believed to begin talk with the Blades next week.
Alan Quinn told Sheffield Star; "I want to play at the highest level possible and go somewhere where things are in place to do well,". "Sheffield United have done well recently, you have to respect what they've achieved, and from one point of view it would be a good move for me.
"I like the area and it would mean that I wouldn't have to move out of it.
"United have plenty of quality players. I've spoken with Neil and there are some others in for me as well which has given me a lot of confidence."
