Palace In Premiership Paradise

This was the Selhurst Park's club third Division One Final nine years which they won there second of the third.

In all there was nothing between the two clubs, though Blades fans would have noticed two old representatives. Brian Deane who has been linked with a move back to Bramall Lane and Don Hutchinson.

Ironically Hutch was part of the United team that lost 1-0 at Wembley against Palace in the 1997 Division One Play-Off Final.

Both sides were equal in strength though its fair to say that the Hammers didn't play as they would have liked and this maybe is why they went away without a win.

Nether the less it was Andy Johnston shot which was parried by Stephan Bywater which Shipperley dragged into the net on 68 minute which proved to be the winner.

However Christian Dailly and Bobby Zamora both saw there superb shots fly into the net only for them to be ruled offside and before this Michael Carrick was brought down in the penalty area and any other referee than Graham Poll may have given it!

West Ham, we feel was a bit unlucky but it was Palace fans who were in the lucky North End and the Hammers will play at least one more season in Division One.
