Davies, 27 requested to leave Bloomfield Road early despite being out of contract with the Seasiders in the summer. He had scored 5 goals in 18 appearances for Blackpool this season - his most recent being in the 4-4 home draw with Nottingham Forest on 14 February. He joins the Blades on loan until the end of the season where he may become a free transfer in the summer.

Formely with Tranmere Rovers, Derby County and Bristol City (loan) he was happy to leave the Lancashire club with manager Lee Clark more than willing; “His body language wasn’t particularly good around the place,” admitted Clark. “We had a heart to heart and he said he was unhappy here, so we had to take all that into consideration. “It was pointless keeping him around the club and it was the right thing to do.
