The home of the Blades, Bramall Lane, has had a fairly small scoreboard situated above the away fans on the Halliwells Stand, but a TV screen, 48M, will now be situated between the Family Stand and the Bramall Lane End.
The screen was almost completed before the Sheffield Wednesday game just over a week ago. It will be in use tomorrow (Tuesday) for the clash against Ipswich Town.
It will only be in limited use for the night's game, though, but when in full operation it will feature highlights from previous games, interviews, goal replays and, before kick-off, action from televised games elsewhere in the country.
Blades Mad believe that the screen was bought from recession hit Darlington.
The screen will boast Bramall Lane's chances of potentially being a venue for the 2018 World Cup if it does come to England, and it will improve Sheffield's chances as a whole too.
It will also bring in more income from sponsorship deals.
Operations Director Simon Argall said: "This is the latest stage in the development of the stadium.
"The installation, coinciding with the 120th anniversary of United first playing at the ground, will improve the fans' experience at Bramall Lane, now one of the best grounds in the North of England."
