The Zimbabwean international believes a change of luck is also due after back-to-back defeats to Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest in the league.
He told the club's official website: "If we keep playing as well as we have, we can still be in there. Forest was the second successive game that we have dominated possession but that doesn't matter when you don't get the result.
"It is disappointing that things aren't happening for us at the moment, maybe we are trying too hard. But we will keep putting tackles in and working hard. All we want to do at the moment is pick up points."
