The 33-year-old defender, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, will assist Carver who has been placed in temporary charge of the Blades following Gary Speed`s appointment as the new manager of Wales.
"I have got no coaching badges, so from the club's point of view it is not helping out coaching-wise," Morgan said.
"For a start I can't get out onto the training ground because of my injury. I will try and help as much as I can in and around the dressing room.
"It will be in and amongst the players and talking to them I don`t think anything is going to change too much. Since my injury I have tried to keep myself in with the lads anyway.
"It`s a privilege and I am proud that they think of me in that way. I will do whatever I can."
