Saturday 28 October 2005, Kick-Off: 3:00pm at Bramall Lane.
United faced Reading at the Madejski Stadium in a game that ended 2-0 to the home side, Dave Kitson netting both of the Royals goals against a weakened United side.

Club captain Chris Morgan will be back in contention after missing the Reading game through suspension whilst Craig Short will be out after breaking down with an calf problem on Tuesday.

Striker Vincent Pericard is also out, the loanee picked up an ankle injury last minute but full-backs Robert Kozluk and David Unsworth could be fit to play some involvment.

Neil Warnock is likely to to change his side around from that of Tuesday night with Steven Kabba and Neil Shipperley replacing Danny Webber and Pericard upfront respectively.

Predicted Blades Line-Up: Paddy Kenny, Derek Geary, Leigh Bromby, Chris Morgan, Alan Wright, Paul Ifill, Nick Montgomery, Phil Jagielka, Alan Quinn, Steven Kabba, Neil Shipperley.

The Bluebirds entertained Leicester City in their third round exit of the Carling Cup on Wednesday, City found themselves out foxed with a 1-0 defeat.

The Welsh club should see Michael Ricketts return the squad after he missed out of the Foxes defeat after being cup tied by Leeds United whom have loaned out the striker to Dave Jones side.

The expected referee for this game is Chris Foy (Merseyside) whilst David Richardson (Yorkshire) and Shaun Proctor-Green (Lincolnshire) will assist him.

Mr. Foy is well known to Neil Warnock and Sheffield United, he is the same referee that sent off Phil Jagielka after Haidar Helguson diving and won a penalty during the 2002/03 season with Watford.

His last game he was in charge of was at home to Derby County last season where the Rams won 1-0, however previous to that was earlier on in the season at Preston where despite winning 1-0 Phil Jagielka was sent off for ''tripping'' David Healy in the box.

However the resulting penalty was saved by Irish keeper Paddy Kenny and two days later the straight red card was reduced to a yellow after Mr. Foy admitted wrong doing.

He has yet to officiate a Blades game this season but below is a list of all the game he has refereed in:
