Match Preview: Rotherham United v Blades

Last updated : 15 March 2004 By @blades_mad1889

Fit Again Jack Lester scored away at Watford to hand a 1-0 lead just before half-time, while new signing Izale McLeod provided a pass which allowed Andy Gray to score in all of his three games for the Blades.

Nick Montgomery returns to the fold after a one match ban and will relace Mark Rankine in the centre of Midfield. Mike Whitlow, we think will be suspended after his red card against Crewe Alexandra.

Ashley Ward (knee) is a long term injury while Steve Kabba (broken leg) isn't far from fitness but will not play in the fixture which he scored in last season, skipper Robert Page (Achilles) is doubtful.

New signing Izale McLeod could start upfront with Jack Lester but knowing Neil Warnock he is unlikely to change a winning side and with the exception of Montgomery should start with the side that beat Watford on Saturday.

A Paul Peschisolido debut goal gave Derby County some hope of battling out of the bottom three with a priceless win over Rotherham United at Pride Park last Saturday, the result leaves the Millers just three points away from the relegation zone.

New signing Jody Morris could make his Millers debut on Tuesday night. The former Chelsea youngster was released from Leeds United contract and has signed for Rotherham until the end of the season.

Other new signing is Phil Gilchrist who is expected to make his Millmoor debut, the former Leicester City centre-back is currently on loan from West Bromwich Albion.

The Millers However will miss Star Man Chris Sedgwick (ankle) and Defender Chris Barker (foot) through injury.

Andy Monkhouse is now available after severing a one-match suspension which kept him out of the Rams clash while skipper Martin McIntosh is out after rupturing his anterior crucial ligament. Former Blade Rob Scott (knee) is still short of match fitness.
