The Blades last game was against West Bromwich Albion in that crunch match which saw the Baggies win 2-1. Darren Moore bundled the ball into his own net to give the Blades a opener before Moore made up for his mistake with a goal. Thomas Gaardsoe scored the winner with 5 minutes remaining.
Sensational striker Ashley Ward will keep his place upfront and play against his former club, his appearance on Saturday was his first for seven matches.
Michael Tonge looks to have shaken off that leg injury and should play in a game which he scored in the 1-0 home win during 2001-02 season against the Alex.
The Alex, managed by Dario Gradi the longest serving manger at any
club by any manger lost 2-1 away at Bradford City in their last game.
Striker Dean Ashton was expected to miss the game on Tuesday as well as there local derby game with Stoke City, now it appears that his back injury is not as bad as first thought and could start against the Blades.
Midfielder Kenny Lunt will most likely miss the clash after he limped out their game at Valley Parade with David Vaughan or Ben Rix set to replace him.
