The 21-year-old signed on loan from Aston Villa until the rest of the season in time to make his Blades debut in the goalless at Coventry along with fellow new loan signing, West Brom defender Joe Mattock.
Lowry said: "I'm delighted the gaffer here has brought me in to help the lads.
"Sheffield United is a massive club and hopefully I can play plenty of games and make sure the team climbs the table quickly."
Lowry and Mattock played their full part as the Blades' back four helped keep a clean sheet for the first time in six matches.
Lowry added: "I thought it was an excellent all-round team effort because it is never easy at places like Coventry because of the way they play and their organisation, but we all stood our ground, especially at the back."
