Micky Adams side have won their last two home games against promotion contenders Nottingham Forest and Leeds and are now third from bottom in the table, four points from safety with eight games remaining.
Fulham midfielder Riise, who fired the second goal in Saturday's 2-0 success, said: "It was a really important victory and the lads played really well.
"We know we need points quickly and at home we have a better chance of picking up victories, so to get another win after the Forest one is pleasing.
"We've been the better side in a lot of the games since I've been here, but the problem we've had has been taking our chances and making the right decisions in the final third.
"But we scored two good goals against Leeds and defended well from set-pieces."
