King Kenny Given Call-Up

Paddy Kenny: Handed first call-up to face Brazil a week on Wednesday.
Republic boss Brian Kerr decided to hand Kenny his very ever call-up, who has been brought in to replace Hibernian shot-stopper Nick Colgan.

"I have spoken to Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock and his assistant, the former Irish international forward David Kelly, and both have given Kenny glowing reports," said Kerr.

"I need an experienced keeper as cover for Shay Given.

"The player has been out for three months this year with a thigh injury but he has always been determined to play for Ireland and has been back in goal for his club since January."
