He said: "My team will always be Sheffield United because the first team you play for is always closest to your heart, in my book anyway, although I always look for Hull's results.
"In many ways what they have achieved has set the standard for Championship teams to aspire to. Saturday's game is tough to call but my heart definitely wants United to get through.
"The crowd has to get right behind us because the FA Cup dream is still alive - which fan doesn't like the excitement of anticipating the next Cup draw and the prospect of getting closer to Wembley?
"We had a taste of it, getting to the semi-final a few years ago under Neil Warnock and Kevin Blackwell - how exciting was that! I really hope the team and fans can recreate that and go one step further this time.
"Hull will have to be seen as favourites, being a Premiership club, but that might be a good thing for United who traditionally have probably coped better with being the underdog - they have invariably done well in that situation."
